Welcome to the Darlington County Balsa Busters website. We are located off of Dovesville Highway, Darlington, South Carolina. We have a very nice well kept field with plenty of space for aircraft of most sizes to take off and land. Many of our members can be found at the field on Sundays starting around 1:30pm to 2pm. 2010 Fly-in Announce for April 24th

It's that time of the year again, yes, time for our annual Mothers Day Fly-in. This year it will be held on April 24th. Please tell all your friends to come by and hang out. We will have lots of planes, food, and plenty of good people to talk to.

Fly-in Photos

I've put up about 15 pictures from the fly-in this past Saturday. I'm working on making the gallery have folders, so for right now they are the newest pictures in the gallery. Should have some more from other cameras up soon.

UPDATE: Just added all the photos the Flying Tigers took at the fly-in. If you have any photos from the fly-in that aren't shown, please E-Mail them to me at dmoree[AT]shadowbranch[DOT]com.

Gallery!

I just finished adding the new gallery to the site. This replaces the old Photos page with a new module for the site. This will allow me to upload tons of photos quickly and allow you to see them in a really cool image overlay! This code was not copied from a site and I didn't use library from somewhere else so if you want to use my code, let me know and I'll E-Mail it to you. The whole thing is one command for each image and a javascript file with 33 lines of code in it. A whole lot smaller and faster that these other sites' image overlay libraries. Well, hit the gallery and click on an image. Have fun!

More Pictures

I added some more pictures to the photos page. Only about 5 to 10 but hey, they are new! Working on a new module for the site to replace the photos page and turn it into a gallery. That will make it easier for me to upload and display pictures. Plus I'll be able to do all kinds of cool stuff with it! Whoo! Well, better get started on that module.

New Feature

If you haven't noticed yet, I've just added the weather conditions for the field at the top left of the page. It's a good place to put it for now, but I will be moving it when I finish up the new site layout. Hope this helps everyone out. The conditions are taken from the Darlington County Jet Port, which is just over a mile away. I've been using their reports for a few months now and it is updated every 15 minutes so the conditions are very accurate.

UPDATE: Just change the layout to something new. This should make the site appear a little better for browsing. Still working on a new one. It should be similar to this one.
